Kristyn spent 28 years in marketing, communications, and grant writing before she started the firm. For 17 of those years she ran a foundation and wrote winning state, federal, and private grants. She has also worked in insurance and in healthcare, so she understands how small teams in careful, regulated fields really operate. Kristyn built the bridge from the analog world to the digital one, and that is the same bridge she helps clients cross today.
If you survived the Oregon Trail, you already know how to learn a new tool.Kristyn Wicht, Founder
Kristyn lives and works in a rural community, so she sees firsthand how much time small teams lose to busywork. She was surprised that more local businesses were not using these tools yet. That gap is exactly why she started Studio 1044.
We are educator led and human first. Our whole goal is to take the fear out of this technology for small and midsized businesses. We do not talk about scary terms like bots or machine learning. We talk about assistants and digital workflows, because that is what these tools really are: helpers that work alongside you.
We believe artificial intelligence is a digital lever. A physical lever helps one person move a heavy rock. This technology works the same way. It lets a small team lift heavy office tasks with very little effort. We keep a human in the loop at all times. The technology does the structural heavy lifting, but a person always remains the master craftsman who makes the final call. We will never hand you a scary black box of code. We speak from a grounded point of view too. If you survived the Oregon Trail or figured out how to program the clock on a VCR, you already know how to learn a new tool. You have done it before.
We work with small and midsized businesses, nonprofits, schools, and churches across Greater Minnesota. Many are in healthcare, education, finance, and faith communities. They wear many hats and feel the weight of manual work every day. For churches and faith based groups especially, our goal is simple. We give your people back to your people, with a human always in charge.
We also care deeply about teaching our community. We provide plain language education on what artificial intelligence is, the most common tools available, and the simple do's and don'ts. Everyone deserves to understand this, not just big companies with big budgets.
